Matt Caulfield

Matt Caulfield retired from the Marine Corps with the rank of Major General. His service included a variety of command and staff positions, including command of a brigade and two battalions. In Vietnam, he served as a company commander, battalion operations officer, and executive officer of the 3rd battalions 26th Marines in operations along the DMZ, including the battle of Con Thien and the siege of Khe Sanh. His staff assignments include Deputy Director of the White House Military Office, Director of Marine Corps Training and Education, and Director of the Warfighting Center. He was selected as the first Marine Military Fellow at the Council in Foreign Relations in New York and attended the Royal College of Defence Studies in the UK.

Since retirement, he has been involved with veterans’ employment. He had appeared before several congressional committees and met with numerous state governors and local officials on behalf of veterans. He spearheaded several successful legislative initiatives resulting in national programs. He has served on several boards, including the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) and the Marines Memorial Association. He graduated from Fordham University and has degrees from George Washington University (MS) and Harvard (MBA).
